Gennie L Tucker, LCSW, is a master level licensed clinical social worker and Board Certified Behavior Analyst with areas of specialization in Applied Behavior Analysis services. Her specialty is working with individuals with brain-based disorders, including autism, depression, anxiety, ADHD, trichotillomania, and other disorders. She has also worked with individuals experiencing unmanageable stress, relationship difficulties, self-harm, selective mutism, and addictions. Mrs. Tucker has diverse experience working the military members and their families, juvenile delinquents, domestic violence, substance abuse and addiction, and intellectually disabled individuals.

 

While working with children and their families, Mrs. Tucker provides behavior modification techniques by identifying the functions of maladaptive behaviors and teaching appropriate replacement behaviors through reinforcement techniques. In many instances, parental training is used to enhance and maintain the healthy behaviors in the school, community, and home environments. Play Therapy is often used in her practice to identify and remove social and community integration difficulties with younger clients.

 

Mrs. Tucker completed a Bachelor's degree in Social Work, with a minor in Family Studies, from Weber State University. During this time, she also completed a practicum helping victims become self-sufficient at a domestic violence shelter. After working with juvenile delinquents in residential settings, Mrs. Tucker obtained a Master's degree in Social Work from Walla Walla University. Her practicum was completed working with veterans who experienced PTSD and military sexual trauma. After graduation, Mrs. Tucker studied and completed coursework to become a Behavior Analyst, working for over 5 years providing ABA therapy for individuals with disabilities in residential settings. Currently, Mrs. Tucker has expanded her services to private practice in Bountiful and Layton.
