Dr. Cardinal has experience assessing and providing therapy for children, adolescents, and adults with a variety of brain-based disorders such as ADHD, autism, nonverbal learning disorders, learning disabilities, depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, Tourette’s, trichotillomania, bipolar disorder, traumatic brain injury, and dementia.
Ana Kemple Reeves, Ph.D. Candidate/Intern

Ana Kemple Reeves is a doctoral student in the Combined Psychology Program at Utah State University.She is passionate about using assessments to help parents understand their child’s difficulties and providing cognitive behavioral therapy to address their needs.
Julie Werner, MSW Intern

Julie is experienced in working with adults and teens struggling with anxiety and depression, self-harm, and survivors of sexual and intimate partner violence. She practices from a strengths-based perspective with aspects of dialectical and cognitive behavioral therapy.
Rita Zimmerman, CMHC
Therapist
​
Rita works with people of all ages assisting clients to choose thoughts and behaviors that encourage satisfying relationships and healthy functioning across their life settings. Rita consults with parents and school teams to advocate for children’s special needs, teaches clients how to manage anxiety and depression, facilitates effective couple communication and role division, and gives parents positive strategies for raising compliant, happy kids.
Carissa Perry, MSW Intern

Carissa has done individual and group therapy with adolescent girls in foster care through Salt Lake County Youth Services. She is experienced in working with children and teens struggling with family issues, behavioral issues, grief, anxiety, depression, and self-harm. Carissa practices from a strengths-based perspective and is trained in dialectical behavioral therapy and mind-body bridging
Gennie Tucker, LCSW, BCBA
​ABA Coordinator
Gennie L Tucker, LCSW, is a master level therapist and Board Certified Behavior Analyst with areas of specialization in Applied Behavior Analysis services. She specializes in individuals with brain based disorders, including autism, depression, anxiety, ADHD, trichotillomania, and other disorders. She has also worked with individuals experiencing unmanageable stress, relationship difficulties, self-harm, selective mutism, and addictions.
Alivia Irwin, LCSW

​Mrs. Irwin works primarily from a neuroscience, attachment, and behavioral perspective and believes that families and children are of the utmost importance. Alivia has extensive experience in anxiety, depression, behavioral problems, ADHD, ODD, OCD, trauma, adoption, foster care issues and autism. She has also worked with bipolar, PTSD, FAS, self-harm, suicide ideation, and addictions. She loves her work with children and with adults.
Jim Essex, ACMHC, Therapist
Mr. Essex specializes in attachment, bonding, family behavior support, domestic violence, lifespan integration, and addiction counseling. As a therapist at NBCG, Jim works hard to provide a therapeutic environment that is safe and rewarding for his clients. Mr. Essex focuses on attachments and bonding because they are at the heart of the human experience.
Amanda Johnson, OT
Occupational Therapist

Amanda graduated from the University of Utah's School of Occupational Therapy in 2008. Since then, she has worked in areas focusing on neurological, sensory, fine motor training, cognitive, and independence training for children and adults. Amanda has a great belief in the ability of the brain and body to change with practice and the correct education.
